Superstar Awards 2009
The Superstar Awards were again held during the Marketing Services trade show (June 8-10) in Frankfurt. The Superstar Awards are organized every year by trade journals “Display” and “Display International” and are primarily focused on the German market.
Together with its client Prénatal, Tchai International pocketed a Silver Superstar Award in the “International Submission” category with its Prénatal Eco Concept.
In collaboration with Prénatal, Tchai International developed a freestanding floor display that fully meshes with the eco principle for which Prénatal’s eco-baby clothing stands. The collection is made of is 100% soft, biological cotton. This cotton is organic and harvested in an environmentally friendly manner. This is one of the ways Prenatal wants to contribute to a better future for mother and child. “We tried to infuse this eco sense into the concept and we succeeded,” says Kim Tchai. “The tree looks natural and is made of FSC wood; environmentally friendly ink is used; recyclable packaging and a minimum amount of packaging make transportation as minimally damaging to the environment as possible.”
In addition, it is a striking and eye-catching design that fits in seamlessly with Prénatal’s interior design due to the organic shapes that were used. The birds in the tree are a symbol of this clothing line and this detail finishes of the whole.
At the end of 2008 Tchai won two Golden Peacocks with its Prénatal Eco Concept during the POP Awards Benelux. Once for best display in the “Displays: Fashion, Sports, Shoes” category and once as the grand winner of the evening for “Best In-Store Communication Materials of 2008.”
Samsung Ultra Touch – Giant Phone
+ 40-inch touch screen 
Tchai International created a real blow-up for the Samsung Ultra Touch mobile touch phone for Samsung Electronics. This “Giant Phone” features a 40-inch Samsung touch screen with which you can actually operate the phone.
In the telecommunications industry it is important for consumers to be able to truly see, feel, test and experience the product. Many telecommunications stores use non-working dummies. But with a touch phone, being able to experience how the device works is paramount. The Samsung Ultra Touch phone has many advanced features such as an 8 megapixel camera, super-fast Internet, a 2.8-inch touch screen and has a stylish new design. The Ultra Touch has a crystal-clear display thanks to the new AMOLED technology. The image remains clear at any angle. Moreover, this technology is energy-conserving, which means that the battery will last longer.
For the launch of the Ultra Touch, Samsung wanted to show a live working model to consumers in order to demonstrate all of its amazing features. The Giant Phone shows consumers the many possibilities and user-friendliness in an interactive manner and is also a good sales tool for salespeople. You can take pictures with it, surf the Internet, “touch-scroll" through the menu, etc.
The Giant Phone has been placed in 40 telecommunications stores in the Netherlands and in 30 Telecom telecommunications stores in Belgium. Retailers are reacting positively to the Giant Phone. It has a lot of draw and a high pull factor on the shop floor. Customers are even standing in line to get a turn at trying out the Ultra Touch.

An additional advantage is that the display can be easily converted to the newest Samsung touch phone model.
Samsung Ultra Touch Giant Phone at Het Oranje Kruis
The Giant Phone is also sometimes used at special events such as the celebration of the 100-year anniversary of Het Oranje Kruis (The Orange Cross), which took place on Friday, June 12, 2009 in Oegstgeest. During this celebration, Her Majesty Queen Beatrix gave the starting signal for the “Eerste Hulp” (“First Aid”) public campaign. By means of disseminating first aid tips free of charge at places such as libraries, pharmacies, health centers/clinics and via the Internet, Het Oranje Kruis hopes to teach more people about first aid and get them to administer it when needed.
