Cipos Seminar 20th and 21st April 2010
On the 20th and 21st of October 2009 Tchai, along with Tripany, IBM and Samsung organised a seminar about interactive media on the shop floor. Consumers have real difficulty in making a choice from the large number of items being offered. Shop personnel have little product knowledge, with the result that clients buy the wrong thing or nothing at all. The interactive search concept Cipos offers a solution. Besides promoting turnover it also delivers a valuable insight into customer behaviour. The use of digital media in shops and stores is growing rapidly. It is of interest in many situations and can contribute to a rise in turnover. However there are always some pitfalls to overcome when starting this sort of project.

Hunter Douglas Luxaflex® more perspective, more flexibility
The new shop-in-shop concept from Luxaflex® was introduced in the last quarter of 2009. Increasingly, window dressing is becoming a fashion statement and therefore it is important to create a perspective in the shop around the brand and product. The use of high quality visuals, modern materials and (interactive) digital media ensures this. With a unique hanging system it is possible to display various and prospective window building system allows a Luxaflex® world to be created in very small areas or very large ones. The concept is being used in Europe and first reaction are vey positive.

Recently Luxaflex® won the zonvak marketing prize where ideas for the shop floor stand central.

Design Trends; The colour of 2010
At the beginning of a new year it is time for resolutions and predictions. This is also the time that the company Pantone chooses a colour. The colour experts have decided that turquoise is this year colour for clothing and furniture branches. It is a fresh universal colour which in the summer of 2010 will be seen again in clothing. It is also after a dismal time, a happy bright colour.

We must not though be influenced by predictions over the use of colour when comes to the presentation of product. To make a well considered decision over colour we must look closely at the product. The best colour for a presentation must be determined by the product and not be chosen on the basis of predicted colour trends. An individual colour of a brand then stands strong in the market. The colour that we decide on must support and enhance the product.
